Joanne Shaw Taylor
Joanne Shaw Taylor is a singer, songwriter and guitarist from Birmingham, England, whose interest in blues music came to the fore after hearing the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert Collins and Jimi Hendrix.
Joanne has released eight studio albums, White Sugar (2009), Diamonds in the Dirt (2010), The Dirty Truth (2014), Wild (2016), Reckless Heart (2019), The Blues Album (2021), Nobody's Fool (2022), Heavy Soul (2024), and her latest offering, Black & Gold (2025). She has won awards for both her vocals and song writing, with best female vocalist at the 2010 and 2011 British Blues Awards, together with a songwriter of the year award for 'Same As It Never Was', from her album Diamonds in the Dirt.
In 2009, Joanne also played lead guitar in Annie Lennox's band, at the Diamond Jubilee concert in London, in front of Buckingham Palace.
