Lowden

George Lowden formed Lowden Guitars back in 1974 to follow his passion for guitar building, after a number of years of experimenting and learning in the field.

Today, based in Downpatrick, County Down, Northern Ireland, Lowden guitars produce both steel and nylon strung acoustic guitars. Its guitars are constructed using assembly techniques that involve the use of hand tools, which Lowden says helps to improve the build quality, whilst retaining tonal response.

Due to the hand built nature of the guitars, they command a higher price and are therefore aimed at the middle to high end of the market.
