Martin
Martin guitars have been around since 1833, when the company was founded by Christian Frederick Martin, in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, USA, which is where their headquarters and primary factory are located. Today the company is headed up by Chris Martin IV, the sixth generation of the family to be in charge.
Martin cater mainly for the middle to higher end of the guitar market, with some of its higher end instruments commanding a price tag of many thousands of pounds. The company currently only produce acoustic guitars, although, in the past, they have also made electric guitars and mandolins.
